We are a privately held company founded in 2007 whose principals have over 40 years of experience in the computer service industry.  

I started theSPECnet to provide broadband wireless internet connectivity for myself because the local telephone carrier did not and will not provde small town America with DSL. Also, the Broadband carrier in the area did a lousy job (really bad).

I also found that the local Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISP's) were not accessible to all, nor were they customer or service friendly. Out of self preservation, I started theSPECnet.  In doing so, we have been able to provide this service to others.  Our initial site provided internet services to the rural area of Weimer, Texas.  Future plans include expanding into other rural areas.   

June 1, 2012 Thespecnet, Inc. purchased ELC based out of Eagle Lake.  This merger places us as the single largest provider of boradband internet Colorado County with a coverage area in excess of 2,500 aq. miles.

For the stuff we don't know, we use consultants and draw on their expertise.  These guys are also certified on the equipment we use.
